Yarrow Tincture for First Aid 🍃
Ingredients:
- 1 oz (approximately 28 g) of dried yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – aerial parts
- 5 oz (approximately 150 ml) of vodka or brandy (with 40% alcohol or higher)
Instructions:
Compost the used yarrow. Transfer the tincture to an amber glass bottle with a dropper lid and label it.
Place the dried yarrow in a clean, sterilized glass jar. Pour the vodka or brandy over the herbs. Dried herbs may absorb the liquid, so check and add more alcohol if needed to ensure the herbs are completely covered.
Store the jar in a dark place to macerate for 4-6 weeks, shaking the mixture every few days.
Strain the tincture through several layers of cheesecloth into a clean jar, pressing the plant material to release every drop of tincture.
Make sure to take your yarrow tincture with you – pack it in your backpack, beach bag, purse, or pocket for your next adventure and follow our page to more herbal recipes! 🥾
